Mental Health Awareness Week 2020

Today sees the start of Mental Health Awareness Week – the theme this year being kindness. The current restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic have really helped to focus thoughts onto the importance of maintaining good mental health in the workplace – and beyond. There has never been a better time to be kind to yourself There are great resources to help in this area on the Mental Health Foundation website – and you’re welcome to get in contact if you have any questions around the subject. The New Normal

Whilst there are changes to the government guidelines from today, continued social distancing measures mean that it is not safe to resume training at present. Whilst we are looking into the possibility of delivering courses online, Mental Health First Aid and (in particular) physical first aid are skills that need to be practised – it is difficult to replicate the experience of a physical course online. However, the safety of delegates, staff, and those they come into contact with is paramount – rest assured that courses will not resume until reasonable adjustments (the “new normal” – whatever that might be) can effectively be put into place.

We continue to monitor the situation via our COVID-19 update, would encourage you to monitor the latest government advice, and please stay safe & well. Image courtesy of Pixabay.
