First Aid at Work Three-Day Course

It is a requirement of the Health & Safety law that employers provide a safe and healthy environment to work in. If your assessment of first aid needs highlights the need for qualified first aiders, then this level 3 qualification (level 6 in Scotland) will provide you with suitable, highly trained personnel.

Overview

This comprehensive, three-day course covers a wide range of first aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with emergency situations with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way. In addition, this course will include any protocol changes that may have arisen since their last training course.

On this course you will learn

  • The importance of managing an emergency incident effectively
  • How to recognise life-threatening injuries
  • How to contact the emergency services
  • How to provide emergency aid for a wide range of situations until professional help arrives
  • How to deal with minor injuries and illnesses
  • Responsibilities of a first aider in a workplace setting

Programme & topics covered

The course is run over three days, seven hours each day (including lunch and tea breaks).  Please note that courses run at the Milton Keynes Safety Centre (Hazard Alley) are  blended learning courses with one day online learning and two days face-to-face learning.

Course Venues

Courses are held at The Safety Centre in Milton Keynes, at Kent’s Hill Conference Centre in Milton Keynes, or at your own business premises for larger groups. To find out more about the venue, and facilities available, please have a look at our venues page.

For Courses held at the Kent’s Hill Conference Centre, the course fee also includes use of Kents Hill Park’s Nuffield Health run Sports and Leisure Complex on the days of the course: just let the receptionist at Swallow House know that you would like to use the complex.
